Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2008 – Romano Dal Forno

The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta from Dal Forno Romano is a powerful, multi-layered wine that captures the very essence of Valpolicella in truly impressive fashion. Crafted from grapes dried using the traditional appassimento method, this Amarone shows a deep, opaque color and an intense bouquet of blackcurrants, plums, roses, licorice, and dark chocolate.

On the palate, it is rich and concentrated, with firm yet silky tannins and an exceptionally long finish. The 2008 vintage offers a rare balance of power, freshness, and finesse. Dal Forno’s meticulous winemaking contributes to its remarkable aging potential — this wine will continue to evolve gracefully until 2040 or beyond. Decanting is highly recommended.

This Amarone deserves dishes of equal depth: think venison or wild boar ragù with pappardelle, braised oxtail, or a classic risotto with Parmesan and truffle. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses like mature Monte Veronese or Parmigiano Reggiano.
