On Wednesday, October 2nd, you are cordially invited to Villa Licata for an exclusive winemaker dinner, in collaboration with the globally renowned wine producer Tenuta San Guido. Experience the iconic Sassicaia and other premium wines from this esteemed Tuscan estate, under the guidance of Guido Baldeschi Balleani, Sales & Marketing Director of Tenuta San Guido.

Chef Thijs Vervloet from the two-star Michelin-rated restaurant Colette** (Gault&Millau 16.5/20) will craft a sophisticated tasting menu, meticulously paired with the fine wines from Tenuta San Guido.

 

About Tenuta San Guido

Located in the picturesque area of Bolgheri, Tuscany, Tenuta San Guido is a vanguard in the viticulture industry, renowned for its innovative approach and the quality of its wines. This historic estate, sprawling over 2,500 hectares from the hills to the sea, merges a rich agricultural heritage with contemporary winemaking techniques. The winery is celebrated for pioneering the production of Super Tuscans, a category known for employing non-traditional grape varieties in Tuscany and prioritizing quality over local wine regulations.

Among Tenuta San Guido's offerings, Sassicaia stands out as its most illustrious wine, gaining international acclaim after triumphing over several noted Bordeaux blends at a Decanter tasting in 1978. Sassicaia helped coin the term "Super Tuscans" with its primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blend, aged in French oak barrels. The estate also produces Guidalberto and Le Difese, both lauded for their quality and accessibility. Guidalberto is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while Le Difese marries Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese, showcasing a distinct Tuscan flavor. These wines highlight the diversity and craftsmanship of Tenuta San Guido, embodying the winery’s commitment to innovation.
