On Wednesday 2 October, you are welcome to join us at Villa Licata for an exclusive winemaker dinner, in collaboration with world-renowned wine producer Tenuta San Guido. Taste the iconic Sassicaia and other top wines from this renowned Tuscan wine estate, accompanied by Guido Baldeschi Balleani, Sales & Marketing Director of Tenuta San Guido.

Chef Thijs Vervloet of restaurant Colette** (Gault&Millau 16.5/20) will create a refined degustation menu, matched with Tenuta San Guido's magnificent wines.

Tenuta San Guido

Located in picturesque Bolgheri in Tuscany, Tenuta San Guido is a leading winery known for its innovation and quality in the world of winemaking. Stretching over 2,500 hectares from hills to sea, this historic estate combines a rich agricultural heritage with modern wine-making techniques. The winery has established its name as a pioneer in the production of Super Tuscans, a category distinguished by the use of non-traditional grape varieties in Tuscany and the pursuit of quality over local wine rules.

Among Tenuta San Guido's wines, Sassicaia is the most famous, a revolutionary creation that achieved international fame after a remarkable victory in a Decanter tasting in 1978, where it beat several renowned Bordeaux blends. Sassicaia was one of the first wines to define the term ‘Super Tuscans’ due to its blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels. Besides Sassicaia, the winery also produces Guidalberto and Le Difese, both acclaimed for their quality and accessibility. Guidalberto offers a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while Le Difese combines Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese, giving a distinctive Tuscan character to the wine. These wines highlight Tenuta San Guido's diversity and craftsmanship and are representative of the winery's innovative spirit.
