On Wednesday 22 May, Mathieu Vande Velde of restaurant Le Roannay (Michelin 1* - Gault&Millau 15.5/20) was a guest at Villa Licata to demonstrate his culinary skills. An unforgettable evening pairing top culinary talent with the best of Licata Vini's wine cellars by Laurent Licata.

Welcome to the culinary world of chef Mathieu Vande Velde, the power behind the kitchen of hotel/restaurant Le Roannay in Stavelot. At the age of 24, the young chef managed to secure his first Michelin star and Gault&Millau is also happy to award him with a fine score of 15.5/20.

Vande Velde swears by fresh and seasonal ingredients that he transforms into compelling taste experiences, with a nod to world cuisine here and there. 

The talented chef combines traditional techniques with a generous dose of originality to create dishes that stimulate the senses and spark the imagination.
