On Saturday 24 February, chef Danny Vanderhoven was a guest at Villa Licata to demonstrate his culinary skills. A legendary evening where top culinary talent was paired with the best from Licata Vini's wine cellars.

Especially for Villa Licata, Vanderhoven took on the challenge of once again conjuring up a true five-course star dinner ‘Danny's Style’ for a select company of some 30 guests. That evening, Laurent Licata presented some surprising Italian wines from the cellars of the same villa... Success guaranteed!

After learning the tricks of the trade from Alex Clevers and Luc Bellings, among others, Danny Vanderhoven opened his own restaurant in 2011. That soon earned him the Gault&Millau title of most outstanding newcomer and, after barely a year, even a Michelin star. A few years ago, the chef was forced to hang the ladle on the hook, but the love of cooking was never far away. 

Today, under ‘L'Atelier du Goût’, Vanderhoven cooks on location for private dinners and enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with (emerging) catering businesses.
