Abel Demeestere gained experience in renowned kitchens such as Hof van Cleve and Sir Kwinten, before developing his own culinary signature at Restaurant EST in Heverlee.

His craftsmanship was recognised with the title of First Chef of Belgium and, in 2026, with his first Michelin star and the title of Young Chef of the Year.

At EST, he presents a refined, contemporary French cuisine in which exceptional produce and classical techniques come together with surprising nuances.

Seasonal ingredients, precise preparations and layered flavours form the foundation of his cuisine. Demeestere seeks the essence of each ingredient, combining it with elegant sauces and subtle accents that bring character and depth to his dishes.
